Ripple Labs has been awarded the Platinum Prize for Best Cross-Border Payments Platform by Juniper Research’s Future Digital Awards for Fintech & Payments 2024. The announcement was made on October 8 via Juniper Research’s official X account : “The Platinum Prize for Best Cross-border Payments Platform goes to … Ripple for Ripple Payments.”

In response to the accolade, the fintech firm expressed its gratitude on X: “We’re pleased to announce that Ripple has been named a Platinum Winner in Best Cross-Border Payments Platform by Juniper Research’s Future Digital Awards for Fintech & Payments 2024!”

Ripple Leads In Cross-Border Payments

Founded in 2001 by industry consultant Tony Crabtree during the telecoms and dot-com downturn, Juniper Research has evolved into a leading analyst firm specializing in the mobile and digital tech sectors in Europe. The Future Digital Awards recognize organizations that have made significant contributions to their industry and are poised to make a considerable impact in the future.

The selection process involves an initial assessment by a panel of Juniper Research analysts, who evaluate entries based on criteria such as product innovation, features and benefits, strategic partnerships, certification and compliance, and future business prospects. Shortlisted candidates undergo a scoring process, and winners are confirmed by a judging panel of experts.

Ripple Payments was recognized for being the first solution to address the “multi-trillion-dollar challenges” in cross-border payments by utilizing blockchain and cryptocurrency at scale.

According to Juniper Research, Ripple is “the leading provider of digital asset infrastructure for financial institutions—delivering simple, compliant, reliable software that unlocks efficiencies, reduces friction, and enhances innovation in global finance. As it has evolved, Ripple Payments has expanded from a cross-border payments network to a platform providing tokenized services that will bring crypto capabilities to enterprises – paving the way for a future where digital assets are front and center.”

Notably, the Gold Winner in the same category is dLocal, a long-term Ripple partner. dLocal is a leading cross-border payment platform specializing in high-growth global markets, serving as a strategic partner for international businesses expanding into emerging economies.

The Future Digital Awards also recognized several other companies across various sectors. Among others, in the realm of banking innovation, SAP Fioneer received the Platinum Award for Banking-as-a-Service Innovation with its Virtual Account Management solution. For digital identity innovation, Signicat was honored with the Platinum Award for its MobileID.

TreviPay’s Financial Partner Gateway secured the Platinum Award for Banking Innovation of the Year. In open banking innovation, Token.io was the Platinum Winner, and Mastercard’s Open Banking for Account Opening took the Gold Award.

In “CBDC Innovation”, EMTECH’s Beyond Suite secured the Platinum Award, while Ripple was honored with the Gold Award, marking another recognition for the company.

Notably, this is not the first time Ripple has been recognized by Juniper Research. Last year, Ripple was awarded the Platinum Award for “CBDC Innovation” at the Future Digital Awards for Fintech & Payments 2023.

At press time, XRP traded at $0.53.
